Chemotherapy treatment launched in Addu City

Hulhumeedhoo Health Centre in Addu City has launched chemotherapy treatment for cancer patients, making it the first facility to provide this service outside of Malé.

Senior Community Health Officer of Hulhumeedhoo Health Centre Aminath Mohamed Didi told Sun Online that the service was launched last Sunday, and the first patient was treated yesterday.

“The patient had received treatment at a hospital in India, and brought with him the medication necessary for chemotherapy. He will receive the treatment here once a week, through IV,” said Aminath.
